Optimizing a web site for the iPhone involves reconfiguring the user experience to allow for a narrower viewport, vertical scrolling, resizing based on iPhone orientation, and emphasizing easy-to-read menu items. Apple products also allow for WebKit animation, which does not require plug-ins!
